Andrea Immel, Curator
Andrea Immel directs the curatorial offices of the Cotsen Children’s Library. She organizes academic programs and exhibitions, acquires new materials, oversees the unit’s publications, and assists scholars doing research in the Cotsen collection.
Andrea received her Ph.D. from the Department of English at University of California, Los Angeles, with a specialization in 18th-century English Literature. She earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature at Occidental College (Los Angeles), and an MLS degree with a specialty in Rare Book Librarianship from Columbia University’s School of Library Service.
Andrea has worked at the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA; the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York; and the Bodleian Library in Oxford, UK. She was personal librarian to Lloyd E. Cotsen before coming with his collection to Princeton.
Aaron Pickett, Curatorial Assistant
Aaron Pickett assists Cotsen's Curator with research, collections and publication materials.
Aaron graduated with an A.B. in American History from the University of Chicago, and pursued graduate study in history at the University of Wisconsin. He has worked in numerous libraries, including the Special Collections Research Center at the University of Chicago, the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, and the Madison (WI) Public Library. Most recently, he worked at the Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library, providing reference assistance and handling other public service duties. He also cooks a mean vegetarian chili.
Dana Sheridan, Education & Outreach Coordinator
Dana Sheridan develops and coordinates programs for children, families, and school groups. She also produces the Cotsen Picture Book Press newsletter and coordinates Cotsen volunteers.
Dana received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia. While her academic career focused on how children learn in informal, out-of-school environments, her professional passion has been the design of dynamic hands-on programs for children. Dana has designed programs for patients age 6-16 at the University of Virginia's Children's Hospital, developed K-4 tours for the permanent exhibitions at UVA's Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library, coordinated programs at the Virginia Discovery Museum, and served as a consultant for children's programs and exhibitions in a variety of institutions.
